Looking for advice about dementia
Age Concern Coventry is pleased to announce that from July 2010 we will be working in partnership with the Alzheimer's Society, to offer a new monthly 'dementia adviser' session as part of our information and advice service. The first session will be held during dementia awareness week on Wednesday 7th July 2010 from 10 - 12.15 at Age Concern Coventry's main office in Warwick Row. Tina Savery, who works as a dementia adviser for the Alzheimer's Society, will be on hand to provide information and advice for people in the early stages of dementia, or those who are in the process of receiving a diagnosis. The idea behind the sessions is for people with dementia to have earlier access to information and advice, and to have a named contact for support they may they need in the future. The dates for the coming months are August 4th, September 1st, October 6th, November 3rd, and December 1st from 10am till 12.15pm. For further information, or to book an appointment in advance to see the dementia adviser, please call Age Concern Coventry on 02476 231999. The Alzheimer's Society also provides a wide range of other support for families and carers of people with dementia. For further information, please contact the Alzheimer's Society directly on 02476 652602. |
